New energy material handling is a pallet-conveying problem with unusually strict rules. Cells and modules are heavy, position-critical and traceable, and the process forbids contamination that a normal assembly line ignores.
Heavy carriers, precise stops
Module and pack pallets commonly run from 150 to 500 kg. A double-speed chain platform carries that weight while letting stations hold the pallet with lift-and-locate units that pin it to ±0.1 mm for screwdriving, laser welding and electrical test.
Traceability at carrier level
Every pallet carries an RFID tag or data matrix read at each gate. Torque values, weld parameters and test results are written against the carrier identity, so a quality hold can be traced to every unit that passed on it.
Contamination and ESD control
In the cell area, aluminium frames are anodized rather than painted, wear strips are selected to avoid shedding, and belt conveyors use antistatic or conductive belting with conductive frames. Guarding and covers keep metal particles away from open cells.
Layout matters too. Module and pack assembly often spans two levels, so a vertical lift at the end of the loop returns empty carriers over the aisle instead of consuming floor space for a return conveyor.
